Offices of the Legislature – 947 Fort Street, Victoria

Office of the Ombudsperson, Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner, Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, and Office of the MERIT Commissioner:

legislatureSpanning 2-1/2 years, this project started by working with the client groups to determine their functional space requirements and total required rentable space. Various building sites were tested through schematic ‘test-for-fit’ studies that examined new shared resources, critical adjacencies and work flow. The final location was a new building site at 947 Fort Street. Working alongside the architect in the early building design phase, through to completed design drawings, the scope included: detailed space planning, interior finishes and millwork detailing for 25,000 ft2, over five floors. This newly constructed building is targeting LEED-Gold certification, so all aspects of the design had to be carefully considered and coordinated to ensure a sustainable result.
